What happens if I entered the wrong IBAN?

  • If this IBAN does not correspond to any bank account: Don't panic, your money is not lost! In this case, the transfer will be returned to us within 15 business days. Then, we can manually reissue your payment to your correct IBAN.
  • If this IBAN corresponds to someone else's bank account: If the IBAN is valid but doesn't match yours, the situation is more complex. Since the transaction is technically successful (the IBAN is valid), we cannot intervene to retrieve the funds.

We recommend you directly contact the recipient to try to resolve the issue. To avoid such mishaps, make sure to double-check and provide us with your correct banking information.

What happens if my IBAN or bank account is blocked?

  • If your payment is sent before the account is blocked, the transaction is considered successful, and Wethenew cannot intervene further.
  • If your payment is sent after the account is blocked, the transaction will not be processed. Your funds will be returned to us within 15 business days. Then, we can manually reissue your payment upon your request.

What are the consequences of repeatedly attempting payments to a blocked IBAN?

It's important to be careful when entering your IBAN, especially if you've had issues with a specific IBAN before. Repeated attempts to receive funds to a blocked IBAN may be considered abusive solicitation.

In such cases, measures may be taken, including the possibility of temporary restriction or banning for inappropriate use of the service. We encourage you to carefully verify your IBAN details before submitting them.
